By leveraging resources on and off campus, NYU Family Care offers important information and services that help NYU parents understand University policies, raise their children, and make the most of life in New York City.

Support and Education for Parents
NYU Family Care is ready to assist faculty, administrators, and staff connect to the services, community, and information they need to raise their children. Our resources include:

• Maternity and Child Care Leaves. The University has developed policies and resources to assist NYU faculty, administrators, and staff make a successful transition to parenthood at home and at work — from pregnancy through a leave of absence and return to work.
• Education and Information. NYU Family Care programming assists families to take full advantage of city and University resources. Our Web site and regular e-newsletter keep families informed about activities, benefits, and services. In addition, individual meetings, resource fairs, lunchtime sessions, and other events provide a forum where parents can share information, trade tips, and learn from each other.
• Lactation Resources and Support. NYU supports nursing mothers on campus with “nursing mother rooms and tips on how to return to work as a nursing mother.” Equipped with changing tables, these rooms provide a dedicated space where new mothers can nurse their child or express milk. Assistance is available to locate other spaces.
• Adoption Assistance. NYU is committed to supporting adoptive families. Recognized as one of the 100 “Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces” (2007, 2008) by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, the University offers useful information about the adoption process and financial assistance to help with expenses…
